    BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The torch relay for the Beijing Paralympics was run in the northwestern Chinese city of Xi'an on Friday.

    The 3.1-kilometer relay, started by Zhang Hui, an athlete with a disability, was run by 70 people.

    The Paralympics will open on Sept. 6.
