Cuban Paralympics athletes ready to win

    HAVANA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The 32 Cuban Paralympics athletes to compete in Beijing during the 13th Paralympics Games aspire to surpass their personal marks and positions, Cuban sports authorities said on Wednesday.

    Sources of the Cuban institute of Sports (Inder) quoted by local radio said that the Cuban delegation is already in Beijing where on Sep.6 will be inaugurated the Paralympics.

    Cuba delegation is formed by athletes from 13 provinces which are part of the associations of Physical-Moving Limited and Blind and Visual weak, whose academic studies in average are the first year of higher education.

    Cuban athletes will compete on five sports with bigger opportunities on athletics (17) and judo, since they have results of world importance.

    Also they will compete on weightlifting, swimming and table tennis, which will have a wide broadcasting in Cuba.

    According to the director of Inder, the Paralympic Cuban athletes have a good training, which included a cycle of four years, classificatory tournaments, where they had to reach established marks for the competitions in Beijing.
