JAKARTA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia adjourned execution of three Bali
bombers from before Islamic holy fasting month of Ramadhan to after the month in
October, the country's attorney general office said here Tuesday.
The office said that the reason of the delay was because it was not
appropriate to conduct the execution when the majority Muslims performing their
holy obligation in the month.
Over 87 percent of Indonesia's population of about 230 million are Muslim.
Indonesian court has decided that the three men, Iman Samudra, Amrozi Ali
Ghufron, are due to be executed before Ramadhan which is in September by
shooting, but the three has appealed to the Islamic way of beheading.
The three men were convicted in 2003 and are being held at Nusa Kambangan
prison in an island off the southern coast of Java Island.
The bombers remained not to regret over their remorseless acts in Bali
blasts in 2002 that 202 innocent people in night clubs, mostly foreign
tourists.
