    BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Olympic Games have presented 16 glorious days which the world will cherish forever, said International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge at the Games' closing ceremony staged in the National Stadium in north Beijing on Sunday night.

    "Tonight, we come to the end of 16 glorious days which we will cherish forever," said the IOC chief in his closing speech.

    "Thank you to the people of China, to all the wonderful volunteers and to BOCOG (Beijing Organizing Committee for the 29th Olympic Games)!" he said.
