East-meets-West dishes served to dignitaries on Beijing Olympics closing day

    BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- East-meets-West dishes were served on Sunday at a banquet hosted by Chinese President Hu Jintao for foreign leaders and international dignitaries who are here to attend the Beijing Olympics' closing ceremony.

    On the menu is hors d'oeuvres, followed by four main courses, including creamy asparagus soup, Chinese style beef steak in bean sauce, tuna rolls and assorted mushrooms in pumpkin cup.

    The main courses are followed by congee with ginkgo nuts, pastries and fruits.

    The wines served at the banquet are Zhangyu 2002, red, and Zhangyu 1999, white.
