BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Argentina and Nigeria made a goalless draw in the halftime of the Olympic women's soccer final here on Saturday.
In a lackluster first half, seemingly dominated by
the Argentines, the Nigerian managed to preserve their menace by fast-pace
counter-attacks and sudden shots. The closest one came when Promise Isaac fired
a 35-meter long shot, forcing Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero tiptoed ball
from the goal.
Argentine captain Juan Riquelme missed a 25-meter
free kick by shooting the ball high on 10th minutes.
