SHANGHAI, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria ousted Belgium out with four dazzling goals, clearing their way to the men's soccer final at the Beijing Olympics here on Tuesday.

"It's just wonderful. We didn't expect to score four goals in semifinal, and my players did a good job," Nigerian coach Samson Siasia said after the match.

The Flying Eagles dominated the match from the beginning to the end with better organization and accurate passes. By their superior ball-control and flamboyant breaks of their opponent's defense line, Wingers Peter Odemwingie from Russia's Moscow Lokomotiv and Solomon Okoronkwo from German Berlin Hertha poised several serious challenges to the goal, and finally scored one at 17 minute as defender Olubayo Adefemi sent the ball into the net after a corner kick.

The Belgians, losing its top defender, Vincent Kompany, after he was forced to return to his club Hamburg ahead of Belgium's third group match and apparently dragged by the accumulated fatigue, could only take some counter-attacks to offense and produced several chances to even the score. The closest one came from midfielder Faris Haroun whose powerful shot hit the crossbar at the 54th minute.

The game was literally ended when midfielder Chinedu Obasi Ogbuke charged out of nowhere with a clean finish and then stunned the goalkeeper again with a powerful 35-meter long shot to rewrite the scoreboard with 3-0.

"It means a lot to our team and coach. We came here to devote ourselves to the game. I'm glad to give my two goals for my team and all of you here," Ogbuke said after the match.

The last 15 minutes became the solo show of The Dream Team IV, as the Nigerians called themselves, when defender Chibuzor Okonkwo, amid thundering roars of the spectators, scored another long shot, not mentioning the substituted forward Victor Anichebe squandered two clear chances.

The Belgium was only rewarded a consolation goal as defender Laurent Ciman scored by a beautiful free kick at 88 minute.

With an undefeated performance in China, finishing first in a difficult group featuring the Netherlands, United States and Japan before downing Cote d'Ivoire 2-0 in the quarterfinals, the Nigegians are now looking foreward to winning the final to be played on August 22 and take home the ultimate prize,of the Games.

"My country has more investment on football than other sports, and we must win a gold medal to make up for our lack of golds. We'll do the best we can," Siasia said.

Nigeria already pocketed an gold and became the first African nation to win the Olympic title in soccer at 1996 Atlanta with a supremely talented squad spearheaded by the likes of Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Taribo West.
