JAKARTA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- A moderate quake with magnitude of 5.4 struck easternmost of Indonesia on Tuesday, but there were no reports of damage or casualties, the Indonesian Meteorology Agency said here.
The quake jolted at 11:34 a.m. (0434 GMT) with epicenter at 12 kilometers southeast of Nabire town in Papua province and 48 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone, so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire," where two continental plates meet that causes frequent seismic and volcanic movements. ¡¡
