BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese feather weight (57 kg) boxer Li Yang was eliminated in the quarterfinals at the Beijing Olympic Games here on Monday.

He was beaten by Vasyl Lomachenko from Ukraine 11-2. Despite his courage and fierceness, the 26-year-old Chinese boxer failed to get more points from his rival, who is six years younger and good at defense.

Li lost to Lomachenko on tie-break in the semifinals of the 2007 World Champions. Lemachenko became the silver medalist eventually at that time.

"I lost patience at the beginning and initiated attacks, which I am actually not good at," Li after Monday's match.

Li said he was a little upset as he had hoped to revenge last year's defeat on home ring.

"I will have more training so that I can do better in the London Olympic Games," he added.
