BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- All the qualifiers of the Olympic men's basketball quarterfinal round had settled after Saturday's matches, with only placings on stake in the final round of the preliminary phase on Monday.

In Group A, Lithuania and Argentina secured the No. 1 and No. 2 placings with Croatia and Australia vying for the third placings.

Croatia (2-2) have a better chance to surpass Australia (2-2) as they will face the winless Iran (0-4) while Australia to meet Lithuania on Monday.

European champions Russia (1-3) have been wiped off from the contention of top eight as they lost to Croatia and Australia. They will play for honor against Argentina in the last match at the Beijing Olympic Games.

The story is the same in Group B as the United States, Spain have finished first and second, and Greece, China follow in order.

Germany (1-3) and Angola (0-4) are saw off after four matches.

The must-see game is the one between Greece and China as the winners will finish third in the group.
