BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- "It was a great finish. It was great to finish on such a great note," said Emily Seebohm from Australia on Sunday.
The Australian quartet beat the United States today in women's 4X100 medley relay and shortened their own world record by more than three seconds.
"I had a great time, so much to do it with your friends," said Emily Seebohm after the race.
Despite a relatively back place after the first leg, Australia's Leisel Jones overtook the United States, Russia and Germany after the second leg and the Aussie women kept the lead to the end.
"I'm great. The thing is about sharing. World records don't just happen, it takes a team," said Leisel Jones.
The United States finished second in three minutes and 53.30 seconds. China, after a relatively slow start, managed to catch up and finished third.
