Over 4 billion people watch Beijing Olympics opening ceremony: company executive

    BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- More than 4 billion people around the world watched the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony on Aug. 8, an official with the China Network Communications (CNC) Group revealed here Saturday.

    According to statistics from the Beijing Olympic Broadcasting company,more than 4 billion people around the world watched the opening ceremony on Aug. 8, said Zhao Jidong, vice president of the CNC, the fixed-line communication partner of the Beijing Olympics.

    Zhao revealed this at a press conference while talking about CNC's contributions to broadcast of the opening ceremony and the games.
