    BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shuttler Chen Jin won a bronze medal in the men's singles event at the Beijing Olympic Games here on Saturday, by beating South Korean rival Lee Hyun-il at 21-16, 12-21, 21-14.

    Chen Jin, 22, said the bronze was significant for him as he planned to make a gold four years later.

    "I had prepared to fight three difficult games before the match, because I know Lee is very strong," said Chen.

    In the semifinals, Chen Jin lost to his world No. 1 teammate Lin Dan and Lee Hyun-il to Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia.

    Lin and the Malaysian Lee will fight for the gold on Sunday.
