    BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Germany got the upper hand of the basketball match by holding China to eight points to lead the first half by 31-27.

    Robert Garrett had a pair of 3-pointers to kick off a 7-0 at the start of the second session. Steffen Hamann had six of Germany's last eight points to put his team ahead by 31-25.

    Du Feng, who substituted Yao, grabbed an offensive rebound and put the ball back into the basket for China's last points in this quarter.
