SHANGHAI, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona has arrived in Shanghai to support his home team when they take on the Netherlands in the Olympic men's quarterfinals here on Saturday night.

The soccer icon turned up at the airport on Saturday morning with casual clothes and sunglasses, saying only a few words to the waiting media: "I'm tired, I will speak later, but I have faith in Argentina."

With superstars Lionel Messi and Juan Riquelme, the Argentine players showed their class in the group stage with three straight wins.

They are scheduled to collide with the Dutch team with several excellent individuals like Ryan Babel, Royston Drenthe and Hedwiges Maduro.

Maradona may be more interested in another gifted star: Sergio Aguero, his younger daughter Giannina's boyfriend.

After the match, Maradona plans to travel to Beijing on Sunday to support the Argentine teams in men's basketball and women's hockey tournaments.
