    BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Rymyana Neykova, Bulgaria, gold medalist in women's single sculls in rowing at Beijing Olympics held in Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park on Saturday.

    Date of birth: 6 April 1973

    Place of birth: Sofia

    Gender: female

    Height: 177 cm

    Weight: 77 kg

    Career: Starting to row at the age of 14, Neykova is a double world champion, double Olympic medalist and triple World Cup Double Sculls winner. She won the silver medal in the race of women's single sculls at Sydney Olypmics and the bronze medal in Athens Olympics. She won all the three World Cup contests in 2005. She was named the 2002 FISA (International Federation of Rowing Associations) Female Rower of the Year.
