U.S., Russia advance to women's foil team Olympic final

    BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The United States and Russia have entered the final bout of the Olympic women's foil team event, while Hungary and Italy will meet for the bronze medal match slated for later Saturday.

    The United States triumphed over Hungary 35-33 as its fencers Emily Cross scored 16 points, Hanna Thompson Hanna 11, and Erinn Smart 8 points.

    In another semifinal bout, Russia and Italy tied at 21-21 in regular time. Russia's Svetlana Boyko made an effective tough on Italy's Maria Valentina Vezzli in the 12th second of extra time to send her team to the final.
