"Green Room" opens in Olympic Village highlighting "Green Olympics"

    BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Yu Xiaoxuan, head of the Construction and Environment Department of the Beijing Organizing Committee of the 29th Olympic Games, gave a lecture on Thursday at the Coca-Cola Official Olympic Pin Trading Center in Olympic Village to promote the concept of Green Olympics.

    The Olympic Pin Trading Center in Olympic Village is the first pin trading center in history which is specially built for Olympic athletes and Para-athletes.

    Apart from trading pins and friendship, it also serves as a place for delegate members of the Olympic Games to rest, communicate and receive environmental education.

    The Green Room aims at involving athletes in environmental protection, utilizing their prestige and popularity to promote environmental protection ideas and inspire people from every corner of the world to fulfill the idea of Green Olympics.

    It is expected that the Coca-Cola Official Olympic Pin Trading Center in Olympic Village will host over 16,500 athletes for Beijing 2008 Olympics, 7,300 athletes for the Paralympics Games and officials from more than 200 countries.
