Rowing events postponed to Friday due to heavy rain

    BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Rowing events scheduled for Thursday have been postponed to Friday due to heavy rain, according to an official release issued here Thursday.

    "Due to continued electrical storm, racing has been postponed from Thursday to Friday with the same "original start time as Thursday," it said.

    Racing on Thursday, scheduled to start at 14:10, was first delayed to 15:30 due to a thunderstorm in the afternoon.

    Races of more than 10 boat classes were on Thursday's agenda. Friday was set aside as a reserve day for rowing according to the official competition agenda.
