ISLAMABAD, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan will release 35 Indian prisoners as a goodwill gesture on Thursday while celebrating its 61st Independence Day.
The 35 prisoners include 34 Indian fishermen and another civilian, private Geo TV quoted sources from Pakistan's Interior Ministry as saying.
The prisoners will be handed over to Indian officials on Friday at eastern Wagha border between India and Pakistan.
Pakistan and India won their independence from Britain in 1947,and they mark their independence day on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 respectively. The two countries has exchanged their prisoners in recent years as a goodwill gesture.
