MACAO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Some 200 students and teachers from high schools
in Macao joined a summer camp in Beijing where they will have the chance to
watch the ongoing 2008 Olympic Games there, the education authority of the Macao
Special Administrative Region(SAR) said on Wednesday.
The summer camp, which was co-sponsored by Macao's Education and Youth
Affairs Bureau and Hong Kong's Education Bureau, was participated by students
and teachers from the two SARs and Beijing. The camp will last from August 11 to
18.
The Macao students and teachers, from 33 local high schools, will watch two
events of the Beijing Olympic Games, and tour Beijing's places of interests
including the Tianmen Square, and the Great Wall, along with the students from
the other two cities.
This is the fourth edition of such summer camp. Since 2005, similar
activities have been held in Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao, as a way to
strengthen communication among youngsters in the three cities.
