Mexican president congratulates divers for winning Olympic bronze

    MEXICO CITY, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Tuesday congratulated Mexican divers Paola Espinosa and Tatiana Ortiz for winning bronze in synchronized diving at the ongoing Beijing Olympic Games.

    Calderon spoke to both athletes over the phone from Mexico City after they won third place in the synchronized 10-meter diving competition, the presidential office said in a statement.

    He also wished them luck for the individual platform diving event next week.
