RIO DE JANEIRO, August 11 (Xinhua) -- Mercedes-Benz do Brazil said Monday that it will increase its output of buses, trucks and auto accessories in Brazil to meet rising demand.

The company said in a statement that it will invest 1.5 billion reais (928 million U.S. dollars) over the next three years to expand its daily production capacity by 25 percent.

Gero Herrmann, president of Mercedes-Benz do Brazil, said the company decided to boost its output to meet rising demand from both domestic and international markets.

About 50 percent of buses and up to 30 percent of trucks produced in Brazil will be exported, said Herrmann.

Mercedes-Benz do Brazil, which holds the largest share of Brazil's truck and bus market, sold some 43,800 units last year. Sales of trucks and buses grew 28 percent in the first 7 months this year compared with the same period last year.
