BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Italy's Matteo Tagliariol and French fencer Fabrice Jeannet have advanced into the gold medal match of the men's epee individual event Sunday at the 2008 Olympic Games.

Tagliariol beat Spanish player Jose Luis Abajo and Jeannet defeated Hungary's Gabor Boczko by the same scores of 15-12 to enter the final.

"In the middle of the match I felt very tired. Sometimes I thought there was something wrong with my weapon," said Spain's Abajo after he lost the semi-final. On the bronze medal match he said "I hope I'll be lucky and win."
