    BEIJING, Aug. 9 -- Beihai Park is said to be one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved imperial gardens in China. It was once the winter palace of the imperial family and a part of the Forbidden City. It is now a park open to the public. For a taste of its majestic past, the Fangshan restaurant, located in the park, serves dishes created from imperial recipes and offers a fantastic view of Beihai Lake.
