Draw favors China's sabre fencers

    BEIJING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Christian Bauer, coach of China's sabre team, said on Thursday he thinks the draw results are favorable for China.

    "The results are favorable for us, but good luck is only the first step of the games," Bauer told Xinhua after the draw was made at the Fencing Hall of the National Convention Center.

    China sends Tan Xue, Bao Yingying and Huang Haiyang to the individual event of women's sabre competition which will take place on Aug. 9, first competition day of the Beijing Olympics.

    "We will examine seriously our opponents and decide our strategy, " he said.

    The French also said he still has no idea about the semifinals or final. "Because we need to win match after match," he added.
