Vietnamese State President leaves for Beijing Olympics

    HANOI, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese State President Nugyen Minh Triet left here Thursday morning for China for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.

    He is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympics on Friday evening.

    "The 2008 Beijing Olympics will produce glorious outcomes and exert profound influence. It will open a new chapter in the Olympic history, "said Triet in an exclusive interview with Xinhua recently. ¡¡
