BOGOTA, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The authorities of Australia and Europe have launched investigations into international links with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), Colombia's El Tiempo daily reported on Sunday.

The report said four Spaniards, two Italians, an Australian and a Dane were under investigation for their alleged links with the FARC.

The Dane was said to be involved in the founding of a media institution used by the FARC, and one of the Spanish suspects was believed to be head of the FARC's Spanish branch, according to the report.

The FARC, with some 12,000 fighters, is Colombia's largest rebel group and has been fighting against the government for decades.
