GAZA, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The police forces of the deposed government of Hamas movement in Gaza on Saturday closed down a Gaza-based radio station belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

The PFLP said in a statement sent to the press that the police forces of the interior ministry of Hamas stormed on Saturday noon the main office of "al-Sha'b" radio station and closed it down.

The statement said that Hamas security forces accused the PFLP radio station for incitement, adding that the closure of the radio station "contradicts with the simple rights of the freedom of speech."

The radio station of the PFLP was covering news on the armed fighting in a Gaza City neighborhood between members of Helles clan and the security forces of Hamas government.

Palestinian medics said that three Hamas policemen were killed and more than 16 wounded in the fighting between the clan's militants and Hamas forces.

Hamas accused the clan in Shaja'eya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City of hiding militants, who might be involved in the bombing attack which killed five Hamas men and a girl last week.

Following the bombing attack, Hamas cracked down on Fatah movement in the Gaza Strip, detained dozens including top Fatah movement's leaders and closed dozens of social charities affiliated to the movement.
