BEIJING, August 1 (Xinhua) -- A senior Party official
has called for constantly strengthening the entire capacity and competitiveness
of China's film and television industry, so as to push the country's film and TV
products to the world.
Great efforts must be made to innovate the sector,
regarding both content and the form of film and TV works, the structure and
mechanism of the industry, and the means of spreading film and TV works, said Li
Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China
(CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau.
Li made the remarks on Friday during a visit to the
newly-built national digital studio. He was accompanied by Politburo members Liu
Yunshan and Liu Yandong during his stay at the National Digital Studio of the
China Film Group Company.
During his visit, Li visited a 5,000-square-meter sound stage and watched presentations on the
making of digital films.

In talks with some staff he spoke highly of the
modern studio, calling its completion a result of the country's cultural
restructuring and an important symbol for the development of the cultural
sector.
"It proves the Party Central Committee's decision on
the cultural restructuring is completely correct," he stressed.
Li urged Chinese film and TV makers to produce more
film and TV works for both domestic and international markets, noting homemade
products should take a larger share of the domestic market and be more
competitive on the international market.
He called for educating more talented professionals
for China's film and TV industry. People of all circles should show their care
and support to the development of the sector, he said.
According to company sources, it took 2.5 years to
build the digital studio. It is composed of different workshops for making films
and TV programs, recording, digital processing, film printing and making flash
and cartoon films.
