ANKARA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The fourth round of Turkey-mediated Syria-Israel peace talks were held in Turkey from July 28 to 30, an official statement said on Wednesday.
The statement issued by the Turkish Prime Ministry Office said, "the parties have made progress during the talks which were held in a productive and very positive way."
"The parties have affirmed their joint will to hold another round of talks. They set a date for the fifth round," it added.
Israel and Syria agreed in May to continue indirect peace talks mediated by Turkey. The two sides are negotiating over the fate of the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau Israel seized in 1967 and annexed in 1981.
Their third round of peace talks were held in Turkey's largest city of Istanbul early July.
