PYONGYANG, July 28 (Xinhua) -- A woman gymnast from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) vowed to win medal in the upcoming Beijing Olympics, a Korean news paper said Monday.

"I want to compete with the master players of the world. If I could give full play to my talent, I would get a good result," HongUn Jong told the web version of Choson Sinbo, a newspaper run by ethnic Koreans in Japan.

Hong bagged a gold medal in the women's pommel horse at the 3rd Asian Gymnastic Championships in 2006.

The DPRK has two women gymnasts qualified for the Beijing Olympic Games.
