MEXICO CITY, July 27 (Xinhua) -- At least 29 people were killed when a truck loaded with people and goods Saturday collided head-on with three oncoming pickups in Haiti, U.N. peacekeepers said Sunday.
The heavily loaded truck plowed into three oncoming vehicles and flipped over. Officials said the truck had failed brakes.
More than 50 people, mostly women and children, were injured in the crash in the town of Cavaillon in southern Haiti and have been treated.
U.N. helicopters flew some of the injured to hospitals.
