    MADRID, July 26 (Xinhua) -- "The Olympic title is what I am lacking and I would like to win it (in Beijing)," said world triathlon champion Javier Gomez Noya from Spain, local press published on Friday.

    The Olympic gold "is not easy, but it is a goal and a challenge; and it is for what I pound myself for" (work hard), Gomez, told the press.

    "I am doing very well, training hard, doing things the best I can and the best I know," Gomez said.

    Gomez Noya, 25, is the number one in the world triathlon classification. The discipline includes three endurance tests: swimming, cycling and running.

    The triathlon competition in the Olympic Games will take place on Aug. 18 and 19 in the north of Beijing.

    The Olympic triathlon includes 1,500-meter swimming, 40-km cycling and 10-km running.

    Gomez is world triathlon champion and won four trials this year: Mooloolaba (Australia), New Plymouth (New Zealand), Madrid (Spain) and Tiszaujvaros (Hungary).

    "If I can give everything, I will be in the front positions. We will see later, but I will be happy if I am able to give everything and do my best race," Gomez said.
