BEIJING, July 25 -- In Kunming, capital of southwest
China's Yunnan Province authorities have tripled the reward to 300,000 yuan, or
about 43,500 U.S. dollars, for information that helps them solve the cases of
Monday's two bus blasts.

The
Public Security Department of Kunming City announced the increased reward on its
website on Wednesday. There has also been a development in the investigation as
they have identified a bag used to carry the explosives. The brown bag is
inscribed with the name of a tea brand and the picture of a Chinese historical
figure.
The police called on the public especially passengers
who took Route 54 buses between 6 and 8:30 a.m. on Monday to contact them, in
the strictest confidentiality, if they have any information on the incidents.

KUNMING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- There was no evidence to show that two bus
explosions that killed two people and injured 14 on Monday in Yunnan Province
were connected to terrorist attacks or aimed at next month's Olympics, a local
official said here on Tuesday.
Du Min, vice mayor of Kunming, the Yunnan capital, said at
a press conference it remained unclear whether the blasts were conducted by many

Police offers 100,000 yuan reward for
clues in China bus blast
KUNMING,
July 22 (Xinhua) -- Anyone who provides information that can help solve the case
of the fatal bus explosions here on Monday will be eligible for a reward of
100,000 yuan (about 14,280U.S. dollars), the local public security bureau
announced on Tuesday.
Explosions occurred on two Route 54 buses during the
morning rush hour in the Yunnan provincial capital, leaving two dead and 14
