Suicide bomb injures 13 soldiers in Algeria

    ALGIERS, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A suicide bomber targeting a convey of Algerian government forces Wednesday morning injured at least 13 soldiers, local media reported Wednesday.

    Eye witnesses said the explosion, which occurred at 6:30 am local time(0530 GMT), was caused by a suicide bomber on a motorbike, who slammed into a military truck not long after the convey left its barracks some 120 km from the capital city of Algiers.

    According to the injured soldiers, the suicide bomber died in the attack.

    Local media said Algerian security forces detonated a bomb near the location of the attack the same day, adding that no group has yet claimed responsibility.
