China coach unveils Olympic men's handball squad

    BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese coach Yan Weiming unveiled his 14-men handball squad for the coming Olympic Games here on Wednesday.

    In revealing the 14-men plus one substitute roster, Yan was full of confidence in his squad.

    "The whole team is in sound form and busy preparing for next month's Olympic Games. No team member is bothered by injury right now," he said.

    The Chinese men's team has been a minnow in the handball world. It will be the first time for them to compete in the Olympics.

    China was drafted in group A for the Beijing Games, against Poland, France, Croatia, Brazil and Spain.

    Squad:

    Left wing: Zhu Wenxin, Zhang Xing

    Left back: Hao Kexin, Tian Jianxia

    Central back: Zhu Jie, Zhang Ji

    Right back: Cui Lei, Miao Qing

    Right wing: Wang Xiaolong

    Pivot: Cui Liang, Zhou Xiaojian, Yan Liang

    Goalkeeper: Ye Qiang, Wang Long

    Substitute: Li Hexin
