Olympic torch relay in Olympic co-host city Qingdao concludes

    QINGDAO, East China, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The Olympic torch finished its tour in Olympic co-host city Qingdao at 11:20 a.m. on Monday.

    Xia Geng, mayor of Qingdao City and president of the sailing committee (Qingdao) of BOCOG lighted the cauldron as the last torchbearer.

    The Olympic torch relay in Qingdao is the first leg of the sacred Olympic flame's tour in East China's Shandong Province.

    During the relay, the torch was passed in a sailing vessel on the sea, which highlighted the Olympic sailing events to be held here from August 9th to 23rd.

    The torch will then leave for Linyi, an old revolutionary base area, for its second leg in Shandong.
