BELGRADE, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese taekwondo athlete Gu Kecui took a gold medal at the 10th World University Taekwondo Championships held in Belgrade on Saturday.

    In the final of the women's 67 kg-72 kg category, Gu defeated Shin Eun-Seo of South Korea to claim the first gold for China.

    The 10-member Chinese squad has also won two bronzes.

    More than 200 Taekwondo athletes from 42 countries and regions are participating in the four-day event in Belgrade, which began on Thursday through to Sunday.
