Olympic sacred flame reaches China's Shenyang

    SHENYANG, northeast China, July 16 (Xinhua) -- The Olympic sacred flame arrived in Shenyang, the biggest city in northeast China and also capital of Liaoning Province, on Wednesday afternoon.

    The flame came from Yanji of the neighbouring Jilin province, and will be relayed in Shenyang on Thursday, which is the first leg of the Olympic torch relay in Liaoning Province. After Shenyang, the flame will be carried through the other two big cities of the province, Anshan, a famous iron and steel city, and Dalian, a beautiful coastal city.

    Altogether 624 torchbearers will participate in the torch relay in the three cities.
