    BEIJING, July 16 -- Achieving a Green Olympics requires the participation of people. To raise public awareness about environmental protection, the China Environmental Awareness Programme has produced eight Olympic Environmental Protection public service announcements.

    Starting Tuesday, they will be broadcast on national and provincial TV channels, as well as video services in office buildings and public transport facilities.

    The project was initiated by China's Ministry of Environmental Protection and the UNDP Chinese Office. The project's organizers hope to use the Olympics to raise public awareness about environmental protection.

    The themes of the PSAs include waste treatment, water conservation, reducing emissions and encouraging the use of clean energy. Eleven Chinese Olympic champions are featured in the PSAs.
