STOCKHOLM, July 15 (Xinhua) -- An amusement park ride collapsed Tuesday in western Sweden, injuring 30 people, authorities said.

    Several people were thrown out of the swinging Rainbow ride at Liseberg Park in the city of Goteborg and crushed as the seating compartment sloped to one side, said a city police spokesperson.

    Around 20 of those injured were seriously hurt.

    The cause of the accident is under investigation.

    Liseberg Park is famous for its thrilling rides and is a popular tourist destination in Scandinavia.
