    BEIJING, July 14 (Xinhua) -- China National People's Congress (NPC) was ready to further exchanges with the National Assembly of Guinea on legislation, democracy and legal construction, said China's top legislator Wu Bangguo on Monday.

    "The NPC attaches importance to the relations with the Guinean National Assembly that would contribute to the all-round development of the relations between China and Guinea," said Wu, NPC Standing Committee chairman.

    Wu told visiting Aboubacar Sompare, the National Assembly of Guinea speaker, that China and Guinea had enjoyed trusted political relations and fruitful cooperation over the past decades.

    Hailing the close coordination in international affairs, he expressed gratitude for the support of Guinea to China on the Taiwan and Tibet issues.

    He hoped the two countries take the 50th anniversary of the bilateral ties next year to enhance exchanges and cooperation.

    Also on Monday afternoon, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC), met with Sompare.

    Jia said both countries were developing nations and faced common tasks for development, and thus had great potential for further cooperation.

    He said the National Committee of the CPPCC, China's top political advisory body, would like to promote contact with the Guinean parliament to push forward the traditional friendship between the two countries.

    Sompare said there was no pre-condition for the cooperation between China and Africa, and Guinea had greatly benefited from it.

    He hoped the two countries would push the mutually-complementary economy to strengthen cooperation on mining, agriculture and trade.

    He reaffirmed Guinea would adhere to the one-China policy.

    Sompare arrived in Beijing on Sunday to start his visit at the invitation of Jia.
