WASHINGTON, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. State Department declined on Friday to confirm the reports that International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo would seek the arrest warrant Monday for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on alleged genocide charge.

"It's not my intention to confirm anything of the sort. As a matter of fact, the United States doesn't have anything to do with the ICC. So, certainly, we wouldn't be the ones to be confirming anything," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told a news briefing.

It was reported that ICC Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo is due to submit to the judges "evidence on crimes committed in the whole of Darfur over the last five years" and seek to charge an individual or individuals.

The Washington Post quoted on Friday UN officials and diplomats as saying that the ICC prosecutor would charge Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir with alleged genocide and crimes against humanity on Monday.
