BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- China will continue
communication and coordination with Sudan as well as the international community
on Darfur issue, and strive for an early solution, said State Councilor Dai
Bingguo.
Dai made the remarks Friday morning when meeting with
a delegation of the National Congress Party (NCP) of Sudan, the country's ruling
party, which was led by Mostafa Osman Ismail, the party's foreign affairs
secretary and presidential advisor.
Thanking China for its constructive efforts in
pushing for settlement of the Darfur issue, Ismail said Sudan will continue to
strengthen coordination and cooperation with the United Nations (UN) and the
African Union (AU), and promote the deployment of hybrid UN-AU operations in
Darfur as well as the political process and stability in the region.
Ismail also hoped for a successful Beijing Olympic
Games.
Dai exchanged views with the guests on the
development of the Sino-Sudanese relations.
Reviewing the fruitful cooperation China and Sudan
have carried out in various areas, Dai said China is willing to further develop
a long-term and stable friendly relationship with Sudan on the basis of mutual
respect, equality and mutual benefit.
China will take the 50th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic ties with Sudan in 2009 as an opportunity, and
further enhance substantial cooperation, Dai said.
Ismail said Sudan will continue to abide by the
one-China policy, expand cooperation in various fields with China, and push
forward the bilateral relations through exchanges between the NCP and the
Communist Party of China (CPC).
