WASHINGTON, July 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Republican
presidential candidate John McCain has raised 22 million U.S. dollars for his
bid for the White House, his campaign said on Thursday.
McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis told reporters
that the Arizona Senator still had nearly 27 million dollars in the bank as of
the end of June, adding to nearly 50 million dollars his total campaign fund.
The June's fundraising amount was a little higher
than that of May, at 21 million dollars.
Davis also said that Republican National Committee
had almost 68 million dollars in the bank as of the end of June, which can be
used to invest in McCain's competition against Democratic presidential candidate
Barack Obama for the White House.
Obama is also expected to release his fundraising
amount for June by July 20, the deadline set by the Federal Election Commission.
