Beijing Olympic torch relay concludes in Inner Mongolia

    CHIFENG, North China, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Siqingaowa, a renowned performing artist, lit the cauldron at Civilian Square at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, bringing the end to the Olympic Torch Relay in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

    Chifeng's torch relay started its tour at 8:00 a.m. as Na Risu, Director of Chifeng City Tourism Bureau, was the first to carry the torch. The whole journey covers 6.2 kilometers.

    Altogether 208 torchbearers carried the Olympic flame along this stretch of the Journey of Culture.

    Inner Mongolia, the 71st leg of the 2008 Olympic torch relay in China, is the last ethnic autonomous region to host the Olympic flame.

    Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, will embrace the Olympic flame on Friday.
