WASHINGTON, July 6 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George
W. Bush held his 62nd birthday celebration on the Air Force One en route to
Japan to attend the summit of the Group of Eight industrialized nations,
according to a news report on Sunday.
The CNN report cited Dana Perino, the presidential
spokeswoman, as saying that the president was joined by his wife, Laura, and
White House staff members in a conference room on the presidential flight on
Saturday night as the high-flying party convened amid dimming light and happy
birthday song.

She
said that a coconut cake with a single candle on it was presented to the
62-year-old president, where there were words "Happy Birthday President Bush."
Bush, who was "dutifully pretended to be surprised,"
made an undisclosed wish before blowing out the candle, she added.
According to the White House official, the president
received birthday notes and cards from his staff and gifts from family members,
but she did not elaborate on it.
Bush left on July 5 to Japan to attend his last G8
summit meeting during his presidency and is set to return on July
9.
