RAMALLAH, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Israeli forces arrested seven Palestinians in the West Bank early on Saturday, Israeli and Palestinian security sources said.

According to the Palestinian sources, five of the detainees were seized in Nablus city during an Israeli army incursion in which the soldiers used sonic bombs and fire.

The five Palestinians were taken from their houses when the soldiers broke into several buildings and conducted searching operations.

Meanwhile, the Israeli troops also stormed the holy city of Bethlehem and arrested two people during home searching, the security sources said.

The Israeli forces launch detentions among the West Bank residents on a daily basis, saying the campaigns target Palestinian activists who are wanted by the Israeli intelligence services.

In June, the Israeli army arrested 340 Palestinians in the West Bank raids, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Ministry.
