Special report: 2008 Olympic Games

TIANJIN, July 4 (Xinhua) -- From July 25 to Sept. 25, vehicles with odd and even numbers in Tianjin, an Olympic co-host city bordering Beijing, will take turns running within the outer ring road to guarantee smooth traffic and clean air.

According to the Tianjin municipal government, the measure will be taken on the conditions that Beijing adopts similar measures or that the air quality in Tianjin does not meet the standard.

Taxis, buses, emergency vehicles and vehicles related to the Olympic Games are excluded from the vehicle control.
